Letter from Stephen Barber
Stephen Barber a regular correspondent from Indonesia and a pioneer of Rugby Union in that part of the world forwarded the following email...
I have sent you a photo of myself (NC 84-87), along with Jamie Charman (current Brisbane Lion, finished at NC in 1996-99), and John McCarthy (1975) class mate of NIck Carter (1972-76).
This photo was taken in Jakarta, following the Jakarta Bintangs AFC's Annual AFL Grand Final Lunch - Jamie was a Guest Speaker along with former Lion Craig McRae.
Currently in Indonesia, I know of the following Nudgee Old Boys other than myself: John McCarthy (1975), Bob King, (1979-80) and Stuart Neal (1989-93)
At present I am in Brisbane receiving medical care for a knee injury. Yesterday I attended the funeral of Leo Williams (1954-58) - Nudgee Old Boy and Legend in many fields.
Regards, Stephen
Editors Note: Good to hear from you again Stephen. Keep letting us know of your activities in Indonesia and the progress of Rugby there. Hope the knee treatment goes well. Talk these other Old Boys into writing a few lines about their life up there.
