On
September 13, 1947, five young men from the Nudgee Golden Jubilee
Class of 1941 graduated in Medicine at the Medical School of the
University of Queensland.
They were John Tange (the 1941 College Dux), Dan Lane, Andy Kelly, Ernie
Erzetic and Humphry Cramond. To mark the occasion they had a group photograph
taken in academic dress.

On
November 29, 1997, the members of the graduation class of 1947 held
a 50-year reunion at the United Service Club The surviving four Nudgee
Old Boys had another group photo taken at the Reunion. Sadly Dan
Lane was missing having died in 1972. At the time of his unexpected
death Dan was a surgeon of international renown. He was also a past
President of the Nudgee College Old Boys’ Association.

of such a group is evident in Humphry’s words written in
Edition 57 of Signum Fidei on this web site.
This
short story illustrates the long contribution that five very special
Old Boys made to the field of medicine in this state, serving both
city and rural communities in a range of disciplines within their
chosen careers.
