Farewell Madame Thais Morgan-Pertus (Chess Co-ordinator)

Peter Todd advised that Madame Morgan-Pertus, Nudgee’s Chess Co-ordinator was leaving Nudgee. He advised us of this with the following tribute to this lady...

It is with sadness that I inform the Nudgee community that we are wishing farewell to Madame Morgan-Pertus as she is off to start a new journey at Gregory Terrace. As Director of Activities, I appreciate what a challenge it is to find the ‘right’ person to run an activity – a person who will energize and give the activity credibility. Madame has done this with GPS Chess and the Chess and Board Games Club. Nudgee’s loss is very much GT’s gain.

Many boys have found a ‘home’ in the French room and have become dedicated Chess players. Madame began the Interhouse Chess competition which has brought new players ‘to the boards’. She will be sorely missed by the Activities Department – both personally and professionally.

We wish Thais well.
