Old Boy tells of his life after Nudgee |
Story Added : June 2006 |
Richard Bukenya (1989-92) sent the following email… My name is Richard Bukenya and I’m trying to get in touch with some old friends from the Class of ‘92. This is when I graduated from Nudgee. Is there a list or contact information that I can access to reach friends? I’d be glad to reunite with some of them. You can also add my information to the Old Boys’ list just in case someone out there recognises me. I should tell you what has been taking place since I left Nudgee. My Nudgee life started in January of 1989. As you know now I graduated in 1992 and moved back to my homeland of Uganda in East Africa. My parents used to live in Papua New Guinea and decided to move back home to Uganda and so naturally after graduation I found myself heading to the motherland. In mid 1993, I embarked on yet another adventure in my life and moved to the United States to begin my University life. I attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, just outside of Oklahoma City, and after five years graduated with Bachelors degrees in Mechanical and Civil Engineering. The year was 1998. There I started working for an engineering firm called 'Black & Veatch' where I put my skills to test and gained valuable experience. In 2002, ten years after graduating from St. Joseph's College, I made yet another move in my rather adventurous life and jumped on board to work for a large US firm called Lockheed Martin. This is where I currently work. I also currently live in Kansas City which borders the states of Kansas to the west and Missouri to the east. The future definitely has plenty more to offer and as it unfolds I'll be sure to keep you and the rest of the Nudgee crew informed. I am definitely planning a trip back to Australia and in particular the Brisbane area. Thinking of Nudgee brings back many unforgettably great memories which bring a tear to my eye once every so often. I would love to get in touch with many of the life long friends I made there. People such as: Bernard Gabutu, Dennis Tauvasa, Clayton Fox, Troy Agombar, Chris Vilaflor, Arturo Andrada, Noel Diaz, the Keyes brothers, and many more. It would also be great to reach some of the staff such as Br. White, Br. McLaughlin, Mr. Voss and many more. I could go on and on but I shall stop here for now! Please feel free to pass out my yahoo address to those who were in the 92, 93, and 94 classes. Better yet, it would be nice to get a list of those in the classes and I can email them when I recognize their names. For sure you can forward my email to those in the Class of’92. Editor's Note: |
