Nudgee welcomes FR Matthew Moloney
Our newest priest back to the College

Story Added : September 2005

On August 15, Father Matthew Moloney celebrated the Assumption Mass on the Ross Oval at Nudgee. He was welcomed back to his old school by students, staff, parents and old boys.

Matthew’s story began in Longreach in 1968. He is the fifth child of six to Bill and Jenny. Their home was the family sheep property, ‘Yarraman’ outside Longreach. He attended Our Lady’s Convent in Longreach before going to Nudgee Junior and then to Nudgee. He graduated from there in 1985.

His post-Nudgee experience included mustering and station-hand work, merchandise management as well as work on the oil fields and some overseas travel. In 1999 he joined the seminary and since his ordination by Bishop Brian Heenan in November 2004, he has ministered at the Rockhampton South Parish.

All Nudgee Old Boys and members of the Nudgee family wish him well in his vocation and express the hope that we will see him at Nudgee many times in the future.
