Barry Collis awarded Order of Australia medal

In this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours list, Barry Collis was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for service to the community particularly through the development and delivery of road safety education programs.

Barry is the father of Peter (1978-81) and the brother-in-law of Br Denis (1956) and Michael Sullivan (1953-55) so is very much a member of the Nudgee Family if not an Old Boy. The work that Barry has performed through Education Queensland in promoting road safety would undoubtedly be responsibe for saving countless young lives on our roads. Barry has since the mid-1980s been prominent in organizations such as the Bike Ed Program, Docu Drama Program as well as a member of numerous Boards such as the Accident Prevention Foundation of Asutralia and the Board of Kidsafe Qld.

Barry, the husband of Margaret nee Sullivan is the father of five children and grandfather of 10. He has lived in the Sandgate district for over 40 years. All members of the Nudgee congratulate Barry and thank him for making the world a lot safer for kids.
