Nick Toohey (2005-06) made contact from USA...I am a former Nudgee student, graduating in 2006. However I was a 2 yr senior and was supposed to finish in 2005 but continued into 2006. All my friends are from 2005. Is it possible to appear on both lists? This would mean a lot to me. Nudgee means a lot to me. I wear my Nudgee Old Boys’ badge over my heart on my new university singlet in every race. Since graduation
I have moved to Texas and I run for Texas A&M University
and study there. Ed note: Peter Todd, College Director of Activities provided this information regarding Nick Toohey. He advised that those at Nudgee last year will remember Nick Toohey was multiple GPS State and Australian Champion, track and cross country star. Nick has taken up a scholarship at the University of Texas which has a great tradition and record in the USA Intercollegiate Track and Field Arena. He is in his first year and of course his first season. Because many university track performers in USA are in their mid 20’s, he is really giving away a lot in age. Last week, Nick broke the University of Texas 800m indoor record, running 1.50.09. It has immediately ranked him as one of the top 20 intercollegiate 800 runners in the USA - the greatest track and field country in the world. |
