Burman (1956-62) - The Inventor - wrote seeking Old Boys' Assistance... The ABC has informed me that it will be part of the New Inventor's show that will go to air on ABC TV at 8.00pm Wednesday 21st September. Please inform all Nudgee Old Boys and ask them to vote for us. The invention is a Stainless Steel Modular Monument for use in cemeteries. The monument will outlast by many times the concrete, stone and granite currently use. Unlike current models, the inscription can be easily read for the whole of its life. It will not fall apart, crack or disintegrate with land movement. It is structurally certified and has very low maintenance. We have applied for Australian and International patents. The monuments are made with modern, stylish designs introducing more colour and intricate designs than are currently available. Memorabilia, time capsules and/or cremated ashes of loved ones or pets can be secured within the monument. The monuments are vandal resistant and can be installed before or soon after burial. Should a second or third internment be required, the monument can easily be removed and replaced by cemetery staff without damage. We are about to launch our range of products which include Stainless Steel Monuments for monumental and strip lawn cemeteries, urns and plaques for crematoria and plaques for lawn and pet cemeteries. Our web site is currently under construction. When the web site is operational, customers will be able to select a monument from one of our designs, design their own online from our wide range of available components or make special arrangements for their own unique design. Please watch the program and if impressed give us your vote. Regards, Editor’s Note: Allan initially forwarded this letter to a number of Old Boys. Some sent it on to Jim Kelly who thought it might be worthwhile canvassing Old Boy support through our website which we have gladly done. |
