Geoff Wood sent this email in relation to the deaths of Bill Harris and Paul Pollard…

I tried to contact Lawrie Cusack via the ncoba@powerup.com.au address but it "bounced". I am hoping that John Andrew can pass this message on.

You may remember Paul Pollard who was the halfback of the undefeated 1946 1st XV, which included such great players as John Fogarty, Dennis Flannery, Ian Brusasco, Pappy Walsh, Dick Walk, etc. I have just received word that Paul died in Johannesburg a few days ago while on a tour of England and South Africa. At present, that is all the information I have. Paul's wife, Maureen, is expected back in Canberra this weekend, so I should have more information in a few days.

I was very sorry to hear from Bill Harris' son, Michael, that Bill died last weekend. Unfortunately, I was not able to fly up for Bill's funeral. Old Boys of our vintage are being depleted rather rapidly now!

My wife, Una, and I are flying to Brisbane on 4 August for 2 weeks so that Una can attend the 50th Reunion of her All Hallows' Class on 13 August. We will spend from 5-12 August on Stradbroke Island and 14-20 August at Burleigh Heads before returning home. I am hoping to find time to call on Peter Kanowski on Sat. 13, while Una is at the Reunion, and possibly visit the College.

Hope all is well with you. Best wishes.

Editor's Note: Geoff’s email highlighted that Lawrie’s email address has changed and we have not advised Old Boys of this. This address is now lmcusack@bigpond.net.au. We have listed this address on page 2 of Signum Fidei Issue 59, in addition to Michael Waldby’s email. Old Boys from Geoff’s era might wish to contact him whilst he is in Brisbane.
