Fr Dominic Carrigan (1956-61) of Wallsend, NSW provides information concerning his familys association with Nudgee and his brother, Cedric from the Class of 52 Thank you for the November issue of Signum Fidei. I received it at my work address at the University. I would be grateful if future editions could be sent to my postal address at P O Box 301, Wallsend NSW 2287. As a matter of interest, I am one of five brothers who attended Nudgee. Our eldest brother, Cedric Carrigan is mentioned in the last edition as one of the deceased members of the Class of 52. I think Cedric was there from 49-52. He died of cancer at the age of 34 leaving a pregnant wife, Maureen and 3 little daughters Carmel, Anne and Carolyn. His and Maureens only son, John was born 2 months after Cedric died. David finished at Nudgee in 54; I finished in 61 and Philip and Martin did not complete senior but finished in 62, I think. I mention this because Philip had an item in one of last years editions re the Moree Rugby Union football team and the records mentioned David, myself, Philip and Marty but left out Ced. I would be grateful if you could note and/or record this. Editor's Note: The story Dom referred to was published in Edition 51, December 2001 and was submitted by Phil Carrigan. It told of the deeds of the Moree Rugby Union Club. It suggested that since their last defeat was in 1998 and that as they had scored 3021 points with only 504 scored against, they could perhaps claim a world record. He pointed out that the fact three Nudgee Old Boys - himself and Phil (1959-62) and Mick Barwick (1988-95) probably explained this outstanding success. In my Editors Note, as I frequently do, because we have a policy of recognizing Nudgee Families, I added information listing the four surviving Carrigan brothers. I realize now that had I then been more precise in my research and linked Cedric in this listing, I would have been better informed for the Class of 52 Reunion which I organized. I offer this information specifically for all who attended Nudgee with Cedric and were seeking information concerning his death.
