MAY 11 Remember in your prayers Grant
Robert Hamilton Grant was diagnosed as having a rare form of cancer, rhabdo-myosarcoma in May 2002. The 19-year-old believed life should be celebrated regardless of the length of time lived. During his illness he was more concerned with how his family would cope than with his own welfare. Grant attended Hercules Road State School before coming to Nudgee. When he left school he started an apprenticeship. He didn’t have unusual ambitions; he just wanted a decent job and his own car. He didn’t have much time for school, but loved the outdoors and sport and later photography. In primary school he took up judo and was placed third in the state titles in 1991. Before he died he picked out a spot by a creek at Belthorpe for his family to scatter his ashes. His parents, Pam and Shane Hamilton, sister Lauren Hamilton, stepmother Andrea Hamilton and stepsiblings Matthew and Simone Barbour, survive him. Eternal
Rest Grant unto him O Lord
