Signum Fidei on track for three editions

We intend to publish three print editions of Signum Fidei this year. The first edition was a smaller publication but this one has grown. We have continued to use the web to provide extra information and communications between editions and in doing so have restructured our website. More specific information concerning publication dates for both mediums is contained in the Editorial.

As promised, this is our second print edition for 2005. Thanks to all Old Boys who in response to our request verified their address. Those who did not respond have not received this edition. We cannot afford to print and post material to incorrect addresses. So if you are speaking to Old Boys who say they have not received their Signum Fidei, could you explain why and where the blame lies? You might also suggest they check our website which will contain information concerning the easiest method of confirming their address.

Our current mailing list will be used for all future editions unless verification of address is received before the production of the next edition. We are also grateful to those who over the past six months have voluntarily checked the addresses of persons living in their location. This help was much appreciated.

About this and future Editions
The magazine has been increased to twelve pages and it is hoped to progressively increase each future edition. We are now offering and seeking advertising space in the next magazine and on our website. Inserts or fliers such as were included in the last edition will not be attached to any future magazines. We will however, provide advertising for any College events, but these must be contained in spaces within the bounds of our advertising policy. Plans are also being made to build up a Nudgee Advertising Directory which will be published both in the print magazine and on our website.

2005 Rugby Success

The 2005 Rugby season has been more successful for not only the Ist XV but also all of the other grades as well. This Association congratulates all students on the manner in which they played throughout the season and thanks all those members of College staff and parents who have coached, managed or in anyway assisted throughout the season. Advertising Policy

Print Material - Signum Fidei - Website package

Our Signum Fidei advertising policy will be to provide no more than:
1/4 of a page advertisement on every second page and
1/8 of a page on each alternate page.

Initial advertising will be sold as a package and therefore must include print and website. A standard website component is included in this package. Additional graphics or electronic variations will be negotiated.

We will also reintroduce our Nudgee Blue Business Register. This will contain listings - business card size - showing professional status.
Cost will be $35 per insertion per annum. Those who respond in time for the next edition will be considered as fully paid until the end of 2006.

Application for either advertising space or inclusion in the Nudgee Blue Business Register must be made to our Office. We will then advise successful applicants to make contact with Brave Creative – our Graphic Designers - concerning the design or sizing of their material. Brave Creative will bill costs for such preparation including the advertising fees to Old Boys.

Signum Fidei Awards

Each year, the Old Boys Association recommends to the College two Old Boys to whom Signum Fidei Awards could be made.

It has been the custom that one of these awards would be to a Religious Old Boy Identity and the other to a Lay Identity.

In the past these recommendations have been prepared by the Executive of our Association, but this year we are inviting Old Boys to nominate persons whom they believe would be suitable recipients of these awards for 2005.

We ask for your suggestions.

GPS Headmasters’ Policy

Alcohol and GPS Functions.

The Headmasters of the GPS Association have determined that no alcohol will be allowed at GPS functions. This ruling will be strictly enforced using normal security methods.
The Nudgee College Old Boys’ Association supports the Headmasters in this ruling and expect all Old Boys to adhere to this policy.
